Creating an online business.The first thing I am going to say to everyone is that there is no such thing as a “Get Rich Quick Scheme”
If you want one of those, then go somewhere else, look at other people’s offers and make them rich. I won’t offer any “Get rich quick” scheme on this blog.
All other people will tell you to do is to buy their stuff, do their things and by the way, whilst you are on the money trail, let me introduce you to some other things you don’t really need that will cost you money you can’t really afford. But hey, who cares really? All they want is your money!
I really hate the hype that comes with the other offers.
Normally, you will get page after page after page, highlighted, bold graphics, Red print, Blue print, large highlighted letters, underlined italics, all very carefully designed to make you part with your hard-earned cash. Of course, you will get a free offer, but the offer is probably something that will be of little use to you, and of course, you could have got similar information from the internet for free anyway!
The only thing I will say to you at this point is that if any offer claims that it sounds too good to be true, it usually is, too good to be true!
The only way to make money from the internet, is to slowly build up your client base. You can’t do it in 30 minutes, I am sorry to disappoint you all, but I am sure that deep down in your heart, you all know this anyway.
Well, maybe you want to live in a dream world like these guys all promising vast amounts of money in a short space of time if you follow their advice and buy their $297 start up pack with many free gifts saving you thousands of dollars. Or instead, buy a pack for $197 and he will “save you a staggering $1,447 if you buy it now.” Of course, “this offer is definitely the last time you will see it at this price”. Yes it definitely is! They make sure of it. They’re very clever, as are their copy writers.
The only way to save thousands of dollars is not to buy that crap. There are many scam artists around on the web. (Don’t fall for all you see and hear!) Of course, there are some very genuine people selling (Note SELLING) their stuff, it’s just that there are so many scam artists around, you will find it very hard to distinguish between a good one and a bad one. Later on I will point out some of the bad ones.
Don’t fall into the trap. Take some time to learn from the internet, or from me. The information is out there, you just need an extraordinary amount of time to find out what and where it is.
Yes, I saw some of the offers from other people that really made me cringe! I decided, right there and then, that I would trawl around the internet, try to pick out the good from the dead wood, picking up snippets of information here and there, in an attempt at weeding out the undesirable and useless information from these so called Gurus of the web. Now I started my own website, in an effort to help you out in this minefield.
Yes I had a little help from Dynadot of course, I wasn’t about to buy a crash course on how to learn html, they helped me through the initial difficulties in starting up a website.
I am a great believer in trying things out. I love to learn, I like to get experience, I like to know the pitfalls and the things to avoid, but I won’t spend much money doing it or getting someone else’s experience. The only way you will “learn” is to experience things at first hand. You don’t need to spend much money learning the ropes, everything you need is out there, though I will save you countless red eyes and hours and hours of looking.
There are three basic things you need to know about internet marketing and only three! If people tell you there are dozens out there, don’t believe a word of it!
The three basic things you need to know are as follows
1. Find a niche market
2. Create a product for your niche market
3. Advertise it on your website
Now I don’t know what you’ve heard in the past, but what I have just said in those three lines are what other people are charging you $197 and $247 for. It is that simple.
So, those are the three basic things you need to know.
You don’t need an auto-responder for you e-mail system, you don’t need an automatic spamming machine.
Why not?
Do it yourself first of all. The personal approach is always the best. When someone buys a book from my website and the confirmation comes through from PayPal, I write to them personally to thank them. I don’t let an auto-responder do it with other seemingly worthless offers. I love the personal touch. People remember that! People are basically nice and respond to the personal touch.
People deal with companies, right?
WRONG!
People deal with people! People deal with people they like and relate to. If I go into a store and the assistant is rude, I just walk out and go to another one where the sales person is friendly.It’s the same as your website, it is a showcase to the general public. If they like the store front, they go in the store. If they order, they should get a nice thank you note from you for being there and ordering your product.
I digress a little here, lets get straight to the point and back to the main plot.
Let’s go to point no 1.
Find a niche market.
There are some extremely good ways of coming up with ideas about what to sell.
Are you good at writing? What do you know that could be useful to someone else? It’s amazing to think that most of us are experts in one field or another, but you just don’t realize it yet.
2. Create a product for that Niche market
Go and write a book! – Believe me, it’s easier said than done, but it pays off in the long run if you write passionately about something you know about.
I wrote a book. I am not an expert on writing a book, but I know more now about book writing than I did when I first started out.
There is no reason why you cannot write a book. I will show you in very easy terms, if you think you cannot write a book, you are wrong! If you are moderately intelligent, you can definitely write a book
I will tell you and show you an extremely good way to write a book.

It’s not that difficult to do. Sure, it takes some time, but if you can’t find a get rich quick scheme, just knuckle down to the fact that there isn’t any!

If a book really is out of the question, then try an e-zine or a newsletter on your favourite topics. If your knowledge is sustainable, you may like to try for a newsletter that carries advertisements for someone else’s products or services – don’t fall for the scammers though! If you don’t want to write a book, then look for other alternatives and go and find a niche market. There are many ways you can do this. I will show them all to you. If you ever thought you weren’t an expert in one field or another, think again!
Don’t forget, all these activities take time. I put this category first as before you set up a website, you need to be aware what amount of time you spend researching your niche market and getting the product you need to sell to the general public.
3. Get yourself a Website!
You do need a website. If anyone says you can cope without a website, don’t believe a word. This is your showcase to the world!
Websites can be expensive, I will show you how to get the best for a very modest sum of $30 per year which includes your domain name, Hosting and E-mail. Yes, $30 per year!
Website Design
There are plenty of free and easy website designers out there. You don’t need to know html, just be able to use a mouse. Their software offerings do the rest. They can even upload the design to your new website. All these free website designers put in a small logo on the bottom of each of your webpages for their advertisements. There are plenty of templates to use, just pick one that suits what you are advertising and the program will do the rest. If there is no template listed that suits you, download some from the internet. There are plenty of free templates ready for use.

Because they can and want to! It’s in their own, vested interest to do so!
Rankings on the search engines
Even though I have been doing this for a considerable period of time, I am still learning.My website is on page 1 of google. The third or fourth ad down the page. How did I do this? I asked Google for their advice. They gave me advice, now when anyone types in “black humour books” on the google search line, I’m right there on page 1. Try it yourself!
It comes up with http://www.blackhumourbooks.com/ straight away with 12,000,000 pages on the subject. Not bad for a first attempt is it?

But, be careful! There are also advertisers pointing you to their websites to get you into their clutches. I am not saying they’re bogus or anything, I am just saying it is hard to tell which ones are scamming you, so be very aware and be very careful.
Generally, if they get you to their website and it is just one huge page of different colour text and highlighting, you can be sure it will cost you something. I have been around the block a few times, well, many times actually, though I haven’t spent any money on these sites. I know from experience, that if there’s a hard way and an easy way (Oops, sorry, I meant to say if there’s a hard way and an expensively, easy way) they’ll get you to pick the expensive option, to save you, so called “time” in getting ready as quickly as possible to sell your products, sometimes in 20 minutes or less! So if you want to spend a few hundred dollars on these programs to get rich quick, be my guest. I don’t offer any such advice. As I have said all along, there are no get rich quick schemes. Yes, you can get rich, but not that quickly as they say, especially when you are just starting out. All I offer is for you, is to get you financially independent at a structured pace.
Now, I am naturally skeptical about these guys who say they can help you get rich quick, and so should you be.
All I am asking you to do is to keep your distance, look at all the offers that are around just to ease your curiosity. After you have visited these sites, you will be asked just to put your name and email address, so they can send you the free book or other free item on offer, then you get bombarded with e-mails. Yes you can unsubscribe, as they hate spam as much as you do. Yeah, Right!
Have you ever tried to unsubscribe?
OK, forget it. Just sign up, you will find out what I mean. I have a lovely personal e-mail address that is continuously bombarded with spam mail. It is to this particular e-mail address I send all the free offers to, (not my own sacred personal e-mail address). I think there are at least 120 spam mails per day at my other address. I pick out the latest offer I get, have a look at it and mark it as spam immediately. Not that it helps, but at least I can contain all the spam in one place.
Just for curiosity, if anyone has heard of Rich Jerk and his no nonsense website, he will tell you in no uncertain terms that his e-books are the best around and you can make millions. Now I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that some of the information he has, if you don’t know anything about the web or search engines, is that his stuff is pretty much useless. Just type in “Rich Jerk” on the google search bar and look at what other sites say about him!
Even My McAfee site guide says “misleading offer”, “1 e-mail per week” and “use caution on this site!” Now that’s what I call a good service from McAfee!
A lot of people on the web call him a scammer, his real name is Felix Kelly.

Getting Payment to your bank account.
This could turn out expensive couldn’t it?
Wrong. It’s practically free. I use Pay pal as their Merchant services suit me well. They are free tools for you to use. They even give you a “Buy Now” button on your website. This is also free. They take all the payments either by credit card or via their own paypal accounts, take a very small amount of commission, then they pay everything to your bank account. It’s that simple. They even provide a spreadsheet online so you can check up immediately how much you have sold.
There are other ways of making money online, but they are mainly using the affiliate sites. There are many thousands of them promising to give you good commissions etc. Be wary, many affiliates will not give you the time of day unless your website ranking is fairly high and your website is visited regularly. You can read more into affiliate websites on the internet, as it would take me too much space to let you know the ins and outs of affiliation.
Be careful, it’s a minefield out there. If you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t do anything until you do! I will show you how to use them effectively and without great cost to yourself if that’s the way you want to go. It is lucrative for the right product and the knowledgeable person, but it could also cost you heavily without the knowledge!
I’ll show you how to handle this sort of advertising. It indeed can be very lucrative, but as I said earlier, if you don’t know what you are doing, you will end up paying a lot of money for absolutely no return.
As I said earlier, there is no substitute for your own material, services or expertise on the web.
As another aside, I will never ask you to unsubscribe from my mailings, simply because I will never send out anything to you unless you specifically request that I do so.
